Sunrisers Hyderabad takes on Kolkata Knight Riders in their fifth game of IPL 2022 in Mumbai on April 5. It is the first of the two games both sides will play against each other this season. KKR is placed second in the points table while SRH is eighth.
The side is on a bit of a roll having won their last two games after making a faulty start. They have beaten teams like CSK and Gujarat Titans. Their performance against Gujarat was near perfect with bowlers restricting the opposition to a manageable score and batmen chasing the runs down.
They face KKR next, an opposition who has the wood over them in the IPL. In 21 matches so far they have lost 14 games while winning just seven. Since they have a settled combination they would not make forceful changes. They need to bring in a replacement for Washington Sundar who is ruled out of the next couple of matches. In this article, we take a look at the possible playing XI for SRH against KKR.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Predicted Playing XI Against Kolkata Knight Riders, IPL 2022, Match 25 SRH vs KKR
Kane Williamson
Williamson will continue to open the batting for SRH. He has been batting well in the last few games and thus should face the maximum deliveries in the game. He scored 57 off 46 balls against GT and took his team home.

Abhishek Sharma
The southpaw has scored runs in two back-to-back games against CSK and GT. he scored his career-best against Chennai and 46 against GT. After a couple of failures, Sharma is repaying the faith shown by his franchise.
Rahul Tripathi / Priyam Garg
Tripathi should be back in the playing XI if he is fit to play against his former club. The right-hander picked up a hamstring injury in their previous match against the Titans. In case he is not fit, Tripathi can be replaced by Priyam Garg in the line-up. He has not played games this season and this will be his first game of IPL 2022 for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Nicholas Pooran
Pooran finally came back to scoring runs as he finished the game off for his side against GT. He scored an unbeaten 34 off 18 balls and alongside Aiden Markram saw his side home. Sunrisers would ideally hope that his form continues.
Aiden Markram
The middle order of Markram and Pooran is key to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have the responsibility of seeing their team home in every game and they did it successfully against GT. Important for them is to continue in the same way.
Shashank Singh / Kartik Tyagi
Given the team combination they want to field, SRH can choose between Tyagi, the pacer, and Singh, the hard-hitter in the middle order. Singh did not get to bat in the previous match and thus Tyagi becomes an important consideration against KKR.
Shreyas Gopal
The leg spinner can replace Washington Sundar in the next couple of games. He is a quality leg-spinner and had dismisses the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the IPL. He can chip in with a few runs as well.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 37/2 in his previous game. He brought his experience to the fore as he bowled the difficult overs in the game. He has picked up 28 wickets against KKR, the most by him against any side in the IPL. His match-up with Aaron Finch will be an interesting one if the latter play for KKR. Bhuvi has dismissed Finch a few times in his international career.
Marco Jansen
Jansen picked up 1 for 27 in his previous game. He has been a good investment for SRH who is controlling the middle overs allowing Bhuvi and Natarajan to execute in the death. He should get a game against KKR.
T Natarajan
The southpaw picked up 2/34 against Gujarat Titans. He has returned full fit after recovering from his knee injury at the NCA. Since then he has been bowling well which is a good sign for SRH and Indian cricket.
Umran Malik
Bowling bowled with a lot of pace fire against the Titans. He hit Hardik Pandya on his helmet and dismissed Matthew Wade in the same over. Cricket experts believe that he needs to channelize his pace with the correct line and length. This concludes SRH’s predicted playing Xi against KKR.
