Unlike other seasons, Sanju Samson had an excellent outing in the last edition (IPL 2021) scoring 484 runs in 14 games at an average of 40.

The Kerala born hit a magnificent century in the last season to almost take his team home alongside two fifties as well and he might have to drop to number four in the batting order with the inclusion of Devdutt Padikkal. His captaincy will be tested this year as well after being handed over an excellent bowling setup.

Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer fetched the big bucks in the IPL 2022 mega auction having been bought for a whopping INR 8.5 Crores by the Rajasthan Royals and his ability to finish games in the middle order is one of the reasons for his high price tag.

The 25-year-old scored 242 runs in 14 IPL games last year for Delhi Capitals at an average of 34 and it was the strike rate of 168 that created a lot of damage to the opponents. The Assam cricketer has played 30 IPL games so far scoring 339 runs and has played some crucial innings that have helped his franchise in the last few years.

He also adds up to the all-rounder option as he can rotate his arm with some leg spin which is crucial to the balance of the side.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the star additions to Rajasthan Royal’s squad as he was bought by the inaugural IPL champions for INR 5 crore after an aggressive bidding war with Delhi Capitals-his former franchise.

The off-spinner has played 113 ODI matches and 51 T20 Internationals since he made his debut against Sri Lanka in an ODI match in Harare in 2010. He shares 212 wickets across both formats. The leg spinner was picked up for a price of INR 6.5 Crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction and is a match-winner on his own with the ball. The leg spinner has been a great servant for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time and it was surprising to see RCB not retaining and even not bidding for him.
