Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal was retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction in the uncapped players’ category for INR 4 Crore and the youngsters have already promised a lot for the future. Yashasvi Jaiswal played ten games last year scoring 249 runs and he had a brilliant strike rate of 148. The left-hander was part of the India U19 squad that went into the finals in 2020 and finished as the man of the series as well.
Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler was one of the expected retentions for the Rajasthan Royals for INR 10 Crores and he brings a lot of value to the side in terms of winning games for the franchise. Jos Buttler has the ability to win matches on his own and he scored 254 runs in seven IPL games last year at a strike rate of 153 which speaks volumes of his ability.
Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal was one of the expensive buys for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 mega auction as he cost INR 7.75 Crores after an intense bidding war against the likes of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings.
He had a good season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore last year with 411 runs in 14 IPL games at an average of 31 and brought up his first century in the cash-rich tournament as well.
Sanju Samson

The right-hander was retained ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 14 Crores and he will have a big role to play for the franchise in the upcoming edition. Unlike other seasons, Sanju Samson had an excellent outing in the last edition (IPL 2021) scoring 484 runs in 14 games at an average of 40.
The Kerala born hit a magnificent century in the last season to almost take his team home alongside two fifties as well and he might have to drop to number four in the batting order with the inclusion of Devdutt Padikkal. His captaincy will be tested this year as well after being handed over an excellent bowling setup.
Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer fetched the big bucks in the IPL 2022 mega auction having been bought for a whopping INR 8.5 Crores by the Rajasthan Royals and his ability to finish games in the middle order is one of the reasons for his high price tag.
The 25-year-old scored 242 runs in 14 IPL games last year for Delhi Capitals at an average of 34 and it was the strike rate of 168 that created a lot of damage to the opponents. Shimron Hetmyer has been struggling with fitness concerns of late and the Royals will be hoping that he plays all the games in the upcoming edition.
James Neesham

The New Zealander has been a constant feature in the international setup and did do a lot of damage towards the back end of the innings in the T20 World Cup 2021. He was picked up for his base price of INR 2 Crores and has been part of various franchises in the past including Mumbai Indians last year.
Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag found a place in the Rajasthan Royals setup again for INR 3.8 Crores with Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans all showing interest in the youngster for IPL 2022. The Assam cricketer has played 30 IPL games so far scoring 339 runs and has played some crucial innings that have helped his franchise in the last few years.
He also adds up to the all-rounder option as he can rotate his arm with some leg spin which is crucial to the balance of the side.
Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the steal buys in the IPL 2022 mega auction for just INR 5 Crores by the Rajasthan Royals from the marquee set and his experience is going to be very handy for the franchise. Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the star additions to Rajasthan Royal’s squad as he was bought by the inaugural IPL champions for INR 5 crore after an aggressive bidding war with Delhi Capitals-his former franchise.
Trent Boult

Trent Boult, the Kiwi pacer was bought in the IPL 2022 mega auction for INR 8 Crore from the marquee set after an intense bidding war against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The New Zealander was a crucial member of the successful campaigns for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2019 and 2020 seasons.
The left-arm seamer can hit 140 Kmph at times and likes to swing it both ways with the new ball, especially is very dangerous against the left-hand batters. The 32-year-old has a lot of IPL experience under his belt now and has taken 76 wickets in 62 IPL games so far at an economy rate of 8.39.
Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna was one of the expensive buys for the Royals in the IPL 2022 mega auction and fetched INR 10 Crores after the bidding war between RR, Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans. The Indian quick has been in really good form of late with some outstanding spells against West Indies in the 50 over format. He picked up 12 wickets in 10 games last season and has the knack of picking up wickets in the middle overs which will be crucial to his franchise.
Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal had an on and off-season last time as he struggled to pick up wickets in the first phase of IPL 2021 but returned like a champion by finishing with 18 wickets in 15 games overall.
The leg spinner was picked up for a price of INR 6.5 Crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction and is a match-winner on his own with the ball. The leg spinner has been a great servant for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time and it was surprising to see RCB not retaining and even not bidding for him.
