Tim David Bought By Mumbai Indians (MI) For INR 8.25 Crore In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

The Singapore-born batsman Tim David was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction on Sunday, February 13.
Tim David had entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction at the base price of INR 40 lakh and he had played just one Indian Premier League game, where he scored 1-run for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Delhi Capitals made the opening bid for the Singapore-born batsman and soon two new bidders – Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings – joined the fray.

After Delhi Capitals’ exit, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings continued the bidding war and soon Lucknow Super Giants joined the battle. Rajasthan Royals also wanted to add explosive batsman David to their squad and they entered the bidding war as well.
When Rajasthan Royals got out Mumbai Indians made a late entry and they were bidding furiously for David, in the end, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to stop and Tim David was sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 8.25 crore.

Tim David is an enormously successful T20 batsman and he has been playing really well across T20 leagues like BBL, PSL and CPL. Overall, he has played 14 T20Is and has scored 558 runs at an average of 46.5 and a strike rate of 158.5. After bringing David to the squad Mumbai Indians are left with the purse of INR 3.35 crore.
