Gayle had two back to back 700-plus seasons in the IPL in 2012 and 2013. He was at the peak of his batting powers in those two years. However, despite his heroics with the bat, he failed to win an IPL title for RCB till he played for them between 2011-2017. In the 2012 season, he hit 46 fours and as many as 59 sixes to make the season his own. The Universe Boss ranks fifth in IPL’s most runs scored in a single season list.

With David Warner banned by the BCCI from playing the 2018 season due to his involvement in the Sandpapergate Scandal. SRH found an unlikely hero in Williamson. They named him the skipper and he took the responsibility with both hands. He started opening the batting and churned out eighth fifty-plus scores with a best of 84 taking them all the way to the final. SRH lost to CSK in the final but Williamson left an impact in the IPL bringing out his T20 gameplan.

3) David Warner- 848 Runs In 2016

He capped off the season with four centuries that included 83 fours and 45 sixes.

Kohli finished just 27 short of what would have been a 100-run season for the former Indian skipper. That was the first season in which one batsman scored four centuries in an IPL season. Kohli was batting like a dream with every shot of his going to the boundary. 973 might never be breached again in the IPL. That season Kohli hit 83 fours and 31 sixes.
