Delhi Capitals - Season-wise performance

Delhi Capitals started their journey in the IPL on a good note, qualifying for the semifinals in the first two seasons. In 2010 and 2011, they failed to go past the league stage before making it to the playoffs again in 2012. It was followed by a long poor run in the IPL as they failed to advance to the playoffs for six straight seasons from 2013 to 2018. Throughout this poor run, they finished in the bottom half of the points table.

In 2019, Delhi Capitals made it to the playoffs again but could not qualify for the final. In the following year, they advanced to the final for the first time in their history under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. However, the Delhi-based outfit ended up on the losing side. They qualified for the playoffs in 2021 as well but failed to progress ahead of the league stage in 2022 and 2023.
