CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Playing XI Against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)- IPL 2021 Match 38. Chennai Super Kings will play their 10th match of the IPL 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. They have made a blistering start to the UAE leg, having registered convincing wins against Mumbai and Bangalore.
They now have seven wins in 9 matches and thus find themselves at the top of the points table. One more win from here would seal their playoff berth and CSK would be looking to make it possible on Sunday.
On that note, we look at their predicted playing XI for the exciting clash.
CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Playing XI Against Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR)- IPL 2021 Match 38
Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plesssis

Of all the batsmen in the CSK’s batting line-up, Ruturaj Gaikwad has looked the most assured thus far in the second leg of IPL 2021. He played a match-winning 88-run knock against Mumbai and followed it up with another vital 26-ball 38 against Bangalore. Faf du Plessis, on the other hand, is CSK’s highest run-getter this season with 351 runs in 9 matches. He scored 31 off 26 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Middle-order: Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni

Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu have provided crucial cameos this season for CSK. The duo has ensured that CSK score runs at a decent rate in the middle overs. Moeen Ali scored 23 off 18 in the last game, while Rayudu scored 32 off 22 deliveries.
Suresh Raina has looked a pale shadow of himself in the tournament. His struggle against bouncers has been quite evident. Raina, however, played an unbeaten 17-run knock off 10 balls in the last game and that would give him some confidence. MS Dhoni too added some runs under his name in the last game which will give him confidence.
All-rounders: Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur

Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo both are likely to persist in the playing XI. Both add depth to the batting line-up. Bravo played a great 8-ball 25-run cameo earlier against Mumbai. Jadeja too scored 26 off 33 in the same match. Besides, the West Indies all-rounder has managed to pick 6 wickets in the last two games.
Shardul Thakur played a pivotal role in bringing CSK back into the contest after RCB openers wreaked havoc at the halfway mark in the last game. He returned with figures of 2 for 29 in 4 overs. Thakur should retain his place as the third all-rounder in the squad
Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood

Deepak Chahar and Josh Hazlewood are likely to once again start the attack in the powerplay overs. The duo went for plenty of runs in the powerplay against RCB. However, both are quality bowlers and MS Dhoni isn’t likely to replace either one of them.
