Chennai Super and Kolkata Knight Riders will battle against each other in the ultimate battle of IPL 2021 i.e. IPL 2021 final. The encounter will take place on October 15 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both the teams defeated Delhi Capitals in their previous game of playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings defeated DC in Qualifier 1 game to make an entry into the final. Later, Kolkata Knight Riders also defeated DC in Qualifier 2 game to become the 2nd finalist of the tournament. Earlier, KKR also defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in Eliminator game.

During CSK vs DC Qualifier 1 match, DC batted first and put up 172-5 on the scoreboard. Opener Prithvi Shaw scored a blistering 60 off 34 balls. Towards the end, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer also smacked incredible knocks of 51 and 37 respectively.
For CSK, opener Ruturaj Gaikwad slammed 70 runs. Later, one-down Robin Uthappa also scored 63 runs. CSK lost wickets in the middle cheaply. In the end, MS Dhoni slammed 1 six and 3 fours to get the winning runs for the team. CSK reached the target in the final over with 4 wickets in hand.

Talking about Kolkata Knight Riders, the Eoin Morgan-led side outplayed Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2 match. Batting first, DC managed only 135-5 on the scoreboard. With a slow start, DC opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 36 runs. Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of unbeaten 30 runs.

For KKR, openers Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer made an astonishing start. With Gill’s 46 and Iyer’s 55, KKR observed an opening stand of 96 runs. In the final 4 overs, KKR lost some quick wickets. With 7 wickets down, they needed to score 6 runs off 2 balls. Then, Rahul Tripathi shattered a six to win the match for his team.
