IPL 2021: Daniel Christian's Wife Abused On Instagram After RCB's Loss To KKR In The Eliminator

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder, Daniel Christian, endured a horrendous night with the ball against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator on Monday. He was taken to the cleaners by Sunil Narine, smashing three sixes in a row which turned the tide in KKR’s favour.

Following the heartbreaking defeat, a certain section of RCB’s fanbase went to Christian’s wife’s social media account on Instagram to abuse her. The poor behaviour was condemned by Christian, who asked the fans to leave his wife out of it. Subsequently, the abusive comments were removed and the comments on the post were made limited.

“Check out the comments section of my partner’s Instagram post. I didn’t have a great game tonight, but that’s sport. However please, leave her out of it,” Christian wrote on Instagram.

Following the message, other fans went and apologized to his wife’s post, stating that they were embarrassed about the behaviour of their fellow countrymen. Several of them asked her to ignore the toxic comments and tried to spread positivity instead.

Sunil Narine masterclass ends Virat Kohli’s hopes of ending his captaincy stint with a title

KKR mystery spinner, Sunil Narine, showed why he is rated so highly as he spun a web around the RCB batsmen in the Eliminator on Monday. The West Indian took the wickets of the Big Three – Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell to restrict RCB to 138.

The run chase was getting quite tricky and it seemed like the Bangalore side was on top for a brief while. However, Narine once again crushed RCB’s hopes as he smashed his first three balls for maximums off Christian, to become the only batsman in IPL history to achieve the feat.

Eventually, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan and Shakib Al Hasan showed wonderful maturity to finish the run chase in the last over. They now move onto Qualifier 2 where they will be up against Delhi Capitals (DC).
