I Think The Word That Comes To Mind Is 'Grateful' - AB de Villiers On Virat Kohli's Captaincy

RCB batsman AB de Villiers had opined his views on Virat Kohli as a leader in the side and the off-field dressing room as he lavished praises on his long-time teammate. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been playing for the same franchise since 2011, and they have shared some of the great partnerships.
Virat recently had stated about giving up the captaincy for RCB after this IPL edition, and the campaign came to an end yesterday in the eliminator against KKR. It was one of the saddest endings as RCB hasn’t won an IPL title so far despite Virat representing the franchise from the maiden edition of IPL.
Virat Had A Much Bigger Impact Than He Will Understand – AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers in the dressing room mentioned that he has been mostly under Virat’s captaincy and added that he is grateful to have been under him. He reckoned that Virat has inspired everyone both on and off the field and has changed many people’s lives, which is one of the touching moments.
“I have been here through all the years with Virat as captain, and I think the word that comes to mind is ‘grateful’. We were very lucky to have had you at the front.
“The way you captained this team has inspired everyone, certainly inspired me to become better as a player and a person. You have had a much bigger impact than you will ever understand. It has gone miles. There are stories that you don’t even hear of people’s lives that you have touched,” AB de Villiers told in the dressing room.
AB de Villiers Hails Virat Kohli As A Person:
AB de Villiers mentioned that Virat Kohli has made everyone believe in their own abilities and noted that Virat deserves a trophy for the heart and dedication he has given to the franchise over the years.
“I have known you on the field but away from it as well. You make people believe in themselves, which is much more important than winning a trophy. Which I still believe will come your way,” he added.
Virat Kohli will still play for RCB in the coming years as a pure batsman and not as a captain.
