IPL 2021: 3 Players That Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Can Target In The Mid-Season Transfer

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is languishing at the bottom of the table and nothing has gone their way so far in the tournament which they would be looking to change soon. They have lost six of their seven games in their campaign so far and do not look like entering the playoffs with a lot of work to be done. The captaincy has also changed from David Warner to Kane Williamson to accommodate overseas all-rounders.

Jonny Bairstow has done really well at the top and Rashid Khan has been the trump card for the SRH bowling lineup for the last three years now. Kane Williamson has done well in the limited opportunities he got which meant that SRH had to sack Warner to bring in another overseas all-rounder who would add experience in the middle order. Here are 3 players that Sunrisers Hyderabad can target in the mid-season transfer.

Karn Sharma:

Karn Sharma has been sitting on the sidelines for the CSK and he hasn’t played a game this season so far. With Jadeja and Moeen Ali doing well, Karn Sharma has fallen down the pecking order and CSK does have a lot of options in their squad for the spin department. Karn Sharma has been part of SRH in the past and will suit their needs at the moment.

Sunrisers Hyderabad haven’t got the best out of Shahbaz Nadeem and they have been looking for a reliable four over spinner who can bat lower down the order. Karn Sharma doesn’t give away many runs and he is a useful lower-order batsman down the order. He does know the franchise really well and he should be the target for SRH.

Mayank Markande:

Mayank Markande hasn’t featured for the Rajasthan Royals yet and they already have plenty of options in the leg-spin department. This makes it tough for him to break into the playing XI and Sunrisers Hyderabad could be the best bet for him at the moment. SRH apart from Rashid Khan hasn’t had many useful spinners in their squad.

Markande is a clever bowler and has a lot of variations in his kitty. His google is very decisive and hard to pick and he has also represented the Indian T20 side. He is young and can be a good pick for the SRH as they would eight overs of quality leg-spin from both ends to keep the scoring rate under control.

Narayan Jagadeesan:

Sunrisers Hyderabad hasn’t had the best contributions from Wriddhiman Saha and they will be looking to add  Jagadeesan to their lineup which could boost their batting lineup. Jagadeesan is a prolific run-scorer at the top and he can play the anchor role to perfection with Bairstow at the other end. He was the highest run-scorer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021.

Jagadeesan played few games in the previous edition for CSK but he had to play in the middle order which isn’t the best position for him. If Jagadeesan can open alongside Warner, then the likes of Bairstow, Manish Pandey, and Kane Williamson can come in next which will be a long and strengthened batting lineup. SRH must target the Tamil Nadu opener who is really consistent at the top.
