Delhi Capitals are coming off a painful defeat in their previous game against RCB and they will now be playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next fixture. The Delhi Capitals lost by one run against the Royal Challengers Bangalore with the game going into the wire and they have now lost two games and won four games so far in their campaign to be placed at the third position.

Shimron Hetmyer brought Delhi back into the game after Rishabh Pant and Stonis started to get the side back on track in the chase. Dhawan and Steve Smith fell early, while Prithvi Shaw was dismissed after getting a start.

Pant despite getting the half-century could not pace innings to the required run rate and to be honest, he did struggle to find the gaps. Here are 3 stars from Delhi Capitals who will be game-changers against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shikhar Dhawan:

Shikhar Dhawan had an excellent start to the season but he has now got out early in two consecutive innings which is below his standards. Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw have been providing the much-needed starts at the top for Delhi and the former must look to continue his good run of form rather than giving away his wicket early.

Dhawan fell for just 6 runs in the previous game against RCB and the plan was set to bowl short to him with two fielders positioned for the mistimed hook shot. He found the fielder at the long leg and the impact has been straight away in the entire DC batting. Dhawan is second on the leading run-getters this season and he is an important member of the Delhi lineup.

Shimron Hetmyer:

The biggest plus in the previous game for Delhi Capitals was Shimron Hetmyer who cut loose in the end and smacked three sixes off the bowling of Kyle Jamieson which brought back Delhi into the game. He finished 53 not out of 25 balls with four sixes and two fours. Unfortunately for Delhi, he did not face many balls in the last two overs.

He was striking the ball really well and he could have easily won the game for the franchise with the touch he was in. The left-hander hasn’t had much of a say so far in the tournament, and this inning was of the highest class from him. He will certainly look to build his form from here on and continue playing the finisher role he has been assigned. he will be a game-changer for the Delhi Capitals if he gets going.

Avesh Khan:

The most impressive Indian quick so far in the tournament has been Avesh Khan considering the economy rate and the wickets column. He hasn’t given away many runs and has been executing the yorkers to perfection at the death. He followed it up with a good performance again in the previous game against RCB.

He bowled four overs for just 24 runs and picked up the important wicket of the skipper Virat Kohli. Such has been the way he has been bowling and he is getting the reward he deserves.

He is second on the list of top wickets takers so far with 12 wickets in 6 games. Delhi might have to stick with Avesh with what he is offering to the team, which also rules out the possibility of Woakes or Nortje coming getting a game.
