MS Dhoni has been a legend in the limited-overs format for India, especially in the IPL and not many bowlers have been able to dismiss for a duck over the years. Dhoni has retired from international cricket last year but still will be part of the IPL which could also be on the verge of coming to the end soon.

Dhoni has been a very successful captain as well as a batsman for the CSK franchise but did not have the best of seasons in the last IPL. His downfall led to CSK managing to not get into the playoffs for the first time. Here are 4 bowlers who have dismissed MS Dhoni for a duck in the IPL history.

4 Bowlers Who Have Dismissed MS Dhoni On A Duck In IPL:

Shane Watson:

This was a high-scoring game and almost 480 runs were scored in the day in the IPL 2010. A league game between the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals saw a thriller and it was a huge day for two Indian talents namely Murali Vijay and Naman Ojha. Murali Vijay scored a splendid 127 run knock off just 56 balls that took the team total to 246 for the loss of five wickets.

In reply, Naman Ojha and Watson almost took the team but eventually fell short by 23 runs after a quick loss of wickets. Dhoni came in at five for the CSK team and was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Shane Watson. This was the first instance of Dhoni being dismissed for a duck in IPL history and Watson was the first bowler to get the job done.

Dirk Nannes:

This was a rare instance as MS Dhoni came up in the batting order at three and was dismissed without a run. The second time in IPL history when Dhoni was dismissed for a duck and for the second time in the same season made it a harder one to swallow. Dirk Nannes was the bowler to get rid of the legendary batsman.

It was a low-scoring match and it ended in the favour of the Delhi Daredevils side who chased down the low target of 112 with 9 balls to spare. Gautam Gambhir carried the team over the line with a half-century knock scoring 57 of 56 balls and deserved the man of the match award.

Harbhajan Singh:

The veteran off-spinner got the big fish MS Dhoni for a duck and it was an excellent spell from Harbhajan on the day. Dhoni was adjudged LBW and it was the third instance of him getting dismissed without getting off the mark. It was in the 2015 playoff stages when Dhoni had the task of taking his team over the line.

Mumbai batted first and scored 187 for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs quota. In reply, CSK had a daunting task but eventually was bundled out for 162 and MI went on to win the game easily. Pollard was the man of the match for his 41 runs knock off just 17 runs and backed it up with three economical overs.

Avesh Khan:

The youngster Avesh Khan impressed the experts with his tough lines and lengths in the first game against the Chennai Super Kings. Delhi decided to go with inexperienced Avesh Khan despite the likes of Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav waiting in the wings and he indeed repaid the faith on him.

He got rid of the CSK skipper MS Dhoni with a length delivery which Dhoni tried to pull through the mid-wicket area and ended up getting an inside edge that went straight into the stumps.

Avesh produced a fine spell of bowling and he joined the list of few bowlers who have dismissed the legendary batsman for a duck. It was the fourth instance and the last time Dhoni was dismissed for a duck was before six years.
