Rajasthan Royals (RR) have suffered a big blow after their overseas all-rounder Ben Stokes was ruled out of IPL 2021 due to a broken finger. The English cricketer Ben Stokes sustained the injury during Rajasthan Royals’ opening match in IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Stokes dived near the boundary in the 10th over to stop Chris Gayle’s shot which injured his finger.

Rajasthan Royals have been already hampered by the absence of pacer Jofra Archer, who was ruled out of IPL 2021 due to an elbow injury. Now Ben Stokes’ ouster will add up to Rajasthan Royals’ woes in IPL 2021. Ben Stokes was a crucial part of the Rajasthan Royals’ team.

Now, Rajasthan Royals will have to look for a brilliant replacement for Ben Stokes in IPL 2021. Here we look at 5 players who can replace Ben Stokes in Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2021.

David Miller is a great option for Rajasthan Royals to replace Ben Stokes. South African cricketer David Miller is a powerful hitter and a left-handed batsman like Ben Stokes. He cannot bowl but can bat aggressively bat-like Ben Stokes. Miller also has a  great experience in IPL with 1850 runs in 80 matches so far.

He has also hit a century and 9 half-centuries in IPL so far which proves he can be a great batsman for Rajasthan Royals.

Liam Livingstone

Rajasthan Royals bought Liam Livingstone for Rs. 75 lakh during IPL 2021 auction. The English cricketer was not part of IPL 2020 but played in IPL 2019 for the same team Rajasthan Royals. He played 4 matches in IPL 2019 and scored 71 runs.

However, in one match he batted beautifully and scored 44 runs. He is another player who can replace Ben Stokes in Rajasthan Royals as is also an all-rounder like Ben Stokes.

Andrew Tye

Since Ben Stokes is an overseas player in the Rajasthan Royals squad, the team can replace him with English cricketer Andrew Tye. Andrew Tye is a pacer and if Rajasthan Royals replace him with Ben Stokes, they will get a depth in the bowling department.

Stokes did not score any runs in the first match against Punjab Kings still the team managed to score a high total of 200+ runs. This proves that Rajasthan Royals can bat well in spite of his absence. So, they can replace Stokes with a full-time bowler.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashavi Jaiswal is another option to replace Ben Stokes in the playing XI. Jaiswal is a left-handed batsman whom Rajasthan Royals bought for Rs. 2.4 crore ahead of IPL 2020.

Last year, he played 3 matches for Rajasthan Royals and scored 40 runs. In his first match, he scored 34 runs that was impressive. Jaiswal can bat as an opener so he can be a valuable player to replace Stokes in the playing XI.

Anuj Rawat

Anuj Rawat is a 21-year-old left-handed batsman. He has a profile of a wicket-keeper. He can also replace Stokes in the team and play as a batsman. Since Rajasthan Royals already played with two wicket-keepers in the first match -Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler– they can induct one more wicket-keeper batsman in the playing XI to strengthen their batting department.

In the first game against Punjab Kings in IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals had 8 bowlers in the playing XI whom they also used during the match. So Rajasthan Royals already have enough bowlers in the team so they can replace all-rounder  Stokes with a full-time batsman like Anuj Rawat.
