When we talk about the orange cap, how can we forget the leading run-scorer of the Indian Premier League? Since IPL 2015, Virat Kohli has been among the top 10 leading run-scorers in the tournament except for IPL 2017. However, in IPL 2017, Kohli could only play 10 matches which was the reason behind his fewer runs in the tournament. In IPL 2020, Virat Kohli surpassed Suresh Raina as the leading run-scorer in the tournament.

The ‘run-machine’ Kohli has scored 5878 runs in the tournament so far. He also holds the record for most runs in a single IPL tournament- 973 runs in IPL 2016. Virat Kohli is someone who cannot be ruled out as a contender to win the orange cap in IPL 2021.
