Delhi Capitals have one of the best opening pairs in Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw but the duo has failed to produce consistent opening stands. Dhawan had an excellent season in the last IPL where he finished as the second-highest run-getter with 618 runs in 17 games.

Prithvi Shaw’s poor technique against inswinging deliveries left a big question mark on his talent and failed to get going in last year’s IPL after a good start. He recently has been excellent in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored the highest individual score of 227 in the tournament history and Delhi will rely on Prithvi to provide good starts for the side.

4. Strong Indian Core

The Indian internationals provide a great advantage to the franchise will picking the XI.

Anrich Nortje who came as a replacement for Chris Woakes last year was excellent with the ball in the 2020 IPL and finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 22 wickets. The proteas pace contingent has worked really well for the Delhi Capitals so far.

Delhi Capitals have a brilliant spin attack comprising of Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Amit Mishra who are all proven customers in the IPL circuit already. Ashwin and Axar had an excellent season last year and turned out to be very economical.

Both Ashwin and Axar can bowl with the new ball which is an added advantage and Mishra can turn a web around with his leg-spin. Mishra is just 10 wickets away from surpassing Lasith Malinga to being the highest wicket-taker in the tournament history.

1.Rishabh Pant Factor

Rishabh Pant did not have the best of seasons in the IPL 2020 and was dropped from the Indian limited-overs squad. But recently he has improved his wicket keeping as well as found his form in the test series and has earned his place in the limited-overs squad again.

He is a unique talent and has had an excellent start to his IPL career. He scored a mammoth of runs for the Delhi Capitals in 2018 and proved to be a match-winner. His form will certainly be crucial to Delhi Capitals’ success.
