Former Indian speedster Ashish Nehra has revealed his pick for future Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain after Virat Kohli parts ways with the captaincy.

Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra has named Devdutt Padikkal as a future leader of RCB and he feels he can lead the team effectively in future.

Although many fans want legendary South African batter AB de Villiers to be the next leader of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after Virat Kohli steps down but he is already 37-year-old and doesn’t have many years left in cricket.

Ashish Nehra believes that if Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wants a long-term captain then it has to be 21-year-old Devdutt Padikkal. Speaking to Cricbuzz Ashish Nehra stated:

Devdutt Padikkal has the ability to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore team effectively. If the team is looking for a player as the captain for a long time, then they will have to hand over the captaincy to Padikkal.”

Devdutt Padikkal made his IPL debut in 2020 and has been batting consistently for Virat Kohli and co. Padikkal has so far smashed 822 runs in 26 games in the IPL.
