Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg felt that the inconsistent form of AB de Villiers in the UAE phase of IPL 2021 might make it difficult for RCB to retain him next year. The mega auction is coming up next year and each team would be assigned limitations in retaining players. AB de Villiers was almost a certainty till last year for RCB.

However, this year he hasn’t had much impact with the bat and his international retirement might just make things even more difficult. He is still one of the best match-winners in T20 cricket and it won’t be a big surprise if RCB sticks to him while retaining players.

AB de Villiers Is Unsure Of His Future – Brad Hogg

Brad Hogg felt that AB de Villiers’ uncertainty in the RCB future will make it a big risk for the franchise to retain him and added that RCB will be looking to get him back in an auction. He made sure that he took nothing away from his ability.

“AB de Villiers is unsure of his future so making a long-term investment on him would be risky for #RCB now. RCB may be wise to put him back in the auction pool this year & try your luck on getting him for a bargain. Nothing about ability it is more about his desire to play#IPL2021,” Brad Hogg mentioned.

RCB’s Campaign Comes To An End

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator yesterday and their campaign for IPL 2021 has come to an end. It also marks the end of the captaincy era for Virat Kohli as he has already declared that he will step down from the RCB skipper position after the IPL 2021. He has contributed immensely as captain of the RCB franchise through his batting as well.
