IPL 2021: Cheteshwar Pujara Officially Receives CSK Jersey As MS Dhoni Welcomes New Recruits

Three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) welcomed their new recruits into the team in an official manner in a ceremony in which they received their official CSK jersey ahead of the IPL 2021.
Chennai Super Kings will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first match of the IPL 2021 on April 10 when the two teams meet in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The CSK team presented official CSK jerseys to their new players, who were bought in the IPL 2021 auction.
Players bought by CSK for IPL 2021: Moeen Ali (Rs 7 crore), K Gowtham (Rs 9.25 crore), Cheteshwar Pujara (Rs 50 lakh), Harishankar Reddy (Rs 20 lakh), Bhagath Varma (Rs 20 lakh), Hari Nishanth (Rs 20 lakh).

Cheteshwar Pujara, who returns to the Indian Premier League for the first time since 2014, took to social media to thank MS Dhoni and CSK as he was welcomed to the 3-time champions’ set-up. He had played in IPL last time in 2014 for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).
Pujara shared the photo of receiving his CSK jersey from MS Dhoni while head coach Stephen Fleming watched on and clapped. Pujara looked in good shape during the training sessions as he was spotted hitting big sixes against his CSK teammates.
“Excited and honoured to receive the official kit from @msdhoni bhai and the @ChennaiIPL family! Looking forward to a great season ahead,” Pujara said while sharing a photo from the ceremony.

Apart from this, new recruits Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, K Gowtham, Harishankar Reddy, Hari Nishaanth, and others were captured in photos, shared by the CSK official Twitter handle.

The CSK will be looking to resuming their playoffs qualification streak, which was broken in IPL 2020, when they finished 6th on the points table, struggling the whole season. They had released a load of players in Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla and Kedar Jadhav to name a few, while Shane Watson retired from the game.
