The CSK will be looking to resuming their playoffs qualification streak, which was broken in IPL 2020, when they finished 6th on the points table, struggling the whole season. They had released a load of players in Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla and Kedar Jadhav to name a few, while Shane Watson retired from the game.
