Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who haven’t won an IPL title for the last seven years will be heading for their third title under the new leadership of England captain Eoin Morgan. Kolkata Knight Riders had a surprising move from their former captain Dinesh Karthik who opted to transfer the captaincy reigns to Eoin Morgan during the mid-half of the tournament.
Kolkata Knight Riders have relied too much on Andre Russell and it was evident in their last season where they failed to qualify for the playoffs owing to Russell’s poor form. They have picked up good backups this year and a bigger squad and will go into the season with a lot more options than the previous years. They have won the IPL two times before in 2012 and 2014 under Gautam Gambhir‘s leadership.
