IPL 2021: Glenn Maxwell Slams Social Media Trolls For "Spreading Abuse" Post RCB's Loss To KKR

Glenn Maxwell, who had a season to remember this time for RCB, couldn’t tolerate social media spreading abuse of his teammate Dan Christian and his wife’s Instagram post. RCB and especially, Dan Christian did not have the best of times in the eliminator as he gave away 29 runs in just 1.4 overs. He couldn’t contribute much with the bat, either scoring just 9 off 8 balls.

RCB had posted a mediocre score on board of 138 on the board despite getting a good start, and it wasn’t enough for their bowlers to defend the score. Eventually, they ended up losing the game by 4 wickets and with two balls to go. With the loss, RCB’s campaign has to come to an end this year, and their search hunt for the maiden title continues.

Maxwell was delighted with the overall performance in the season, and he posted on Instagram of having had an amazing experience. However, he also lashed out at the social media trolls against his teammates and RCB for losing yet another title opportunity. He also thanked the loyal fans who kept their support and love continuously.

“Great season by RCB, unfortunately we fell short of where we thought we should be. Doesn’t take away from an amazing season!! Some of the garbage that has been flowing on social media is absolutely disgusting! We are human beings who are giving our best each and every day. Try being a decent person maybe instead of spreading abuse…,” Maxwell’s Twitter post.

“Thank you to the REAL fans that shared love and appreciation for the players giving their all! Unfortunately there is some horrible people out there that make social media a horrible place to be. It is unacceptable!!!! Please don’t be like them!!!” He tweeted.

Glenn Maxwell Warns The Social Media Trollers

Glenn Maxwell felt that the social media trolls have gone out of hands, and he warned them to stop doing it to his RCB friends or teammates. He was also shocked by the people’s terrible approach.

“If you comment abuse of one of my teammates/friends social media with negative/abusive rubbish, you will be blocked by everyone. What is the point of being a terrible person? There is no excuse!!!” He added.

Maxwell finishes as RCB’s highest run-scorer this season with 513 runs at an average of 42.75.
