Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Kuldeep Yadav recently named the two most difficult batsmen to bowl to in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during an interview in the ongoing IPL 2021. Unfortunately, Kuldeep has not been able to find a place in the playing XI for the KKR team in the ongoing tournament.

KKR team, led by Eoin Morgan, has won only one game out of the three they have played thus far. Even the skipper admitted that he has not been able to read the pitch at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai and that has led to them losing two back-to-back matches. And Kuldeep Yadav has not been chosen for either of the matches played so far.

In fact, he got to play only five matches in the last edition of IPL, IPL 2020 which was played in the UAE. It has been the same story for Kuldeep in the Indian team as well, as he has barely gotten any games for them since 2019, playing sparingly for the team at the international level and that has hurt his confidence badly.

While speaking to PTI Bhasha, Kuldeep said: “Only three matches have happened so far. I’m hopeful to get a place in the final XI soon, and I will perform well.”

Talking about the opposition batsmen in the Indian Premier League, Kuldeep Yadav spoke about the two most difficult batsmen to bowl to in the tournament. He named Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman AB de Villiers and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma as the ones who are tough to tackle.

Further, Kuldeep said that AB de Villiers has the ability to hit the same ball to any part of the ground, while Rohit Sharma has ample time on his hands to maneuver the ball anywhere he wants.

“I find it difficult to bowl against AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma. De Villiers can smash the ball in any corner of the ground, while Rohit has plenty of time,” added Kuldeep.

Going forward into the interview, Kuldeep was asked to pick two players who according to them, are absolute legends of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The chinaman bowler chose West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who plays for Punjab Kings (PBKS), and former India captain MS Dhoni, who leads the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise.

“If we look from the beginning, then MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle are truly the legends of IPL as they have been performing well since the first season,” remarked Kuldeep.

KKR will next play CSK on April 21 in Mumbai.
