IPL 2021, Match 56: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals – Toss Report

Table of Contents
The final match of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dubai on Friday. The result of the match is quite inconsequential to the respective places of the teams on the points table.
Both of them have qualified for the playoffs. However, they will be keen to establish authority over the other side and also get their team combinations right before entering the knockouts. The previous time these two teams met, RCB managed to eke out a 1-run win over DC.
Virat Kohli-led RCB suffered a narrow loss against bottom-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday. That pretty much denied them a chance to make it to the top two. Nevertheless, Kohli and co. will be keen on fixing the issues that bugged them in the previous match.

The bowling fared much better in the powerplay compared to their previous matches and also restricted the SRH side to 141. However, it was the batting that was a bit of a letdown and despite the presence of AB de Villiers at the crease, RCB failed to get over the line and lost by four runs.
As for DC, they’re coming into the match after a comfortable victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). On the back of that win, they are all set to finish on top of the points table. This match should help them figure out the top order more so than anything.
It has looked a bit unsettled as compared to the first phase in India. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan haven’t had good starts in the UAE leg but will be keen to set things straight. Avesh Khan will be the one to watch out for as he’s second on the purple cap list, seven wickets behind RCB’s Harshal Patel.
