IPL 2021 is just a few weeks away from being back in India after almost two years and it is time to predict the highest run-scorer of every team in the upcoming edition. KL Rahul bagged the orange cap last year scoring 670 runs in 14 matches with the highest score of 132 not out while David Warner has been among the most consistent batsman in the last five years of IPL.

Virat Kohli still holds the record for the most number of runs in a single season and the batsman will have an eye to overcome the prestigious feat. The following players are predicted to be the highest run-scorer of each team.

IPL 2021: Predicted Highest Run Scorer Of Every Team:

Suresh Raina(CSK):

Suresh Raina has been the most consistent performer for CSK over the years and is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL overall with 5368 runs. He missed out on IPL in the last season which had a major impact and CSK did not reach the playoffs for the first time.

He will be itching to get on the field and score a lot more runs after having retired from international cricket last year. He is also expected to top the batting charts given that he plays every game.

Virat Kohli(RCB):

With two years of no centuries for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli which we do not often originate with him, this will be the perfect opportunity for Kohli to stamp his authority back in the competitive tournament. He smashed more than 900 runs in the 2016 season which remains the highest score until now.

Devdutt Padikkal has been in excellent form too and Kohli will be happy to have some healthy competition in from him for being the highest run-scorer for RCB in the season.

David Warner(SRH):

David Warner has been simply the best batsman in the IPL in the last five years and has been very instrumental in their team’s successful campaigns. He finished as the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament last year and is one of the favourites contenders for the orange cap title in the IPL 2021 again.

Warner has scored 5254 runs in the 142 games that he has played in IPL at an average of more than 42 which is not easy by any means.

Shubman Gill(KKR):

Shubman Gill amassed 440 runs in 14 games for KKR last year and finished as the highest run-scorer for them. The recent England series saw Gill facing a downfall which could motivate him to aim for some bigger performances this year.

Gill’s consistency at the top will also be an added advantage for the KKR who rely a lot on their strong middle order to win games for them.

Shreyas Iyer(DC):

Shreyas Iyer has been the most productive batsmen in India in the last two years as he has always found a way to get going. He captained the Delhi Capitals to two playoffs season 2019 and 2019 and has grown a lot in stature. His progress has been excellent and plays an integral part in the Indian limited overside.

He finished as the fourth-highest run-getter in the last season with 519 in 17 games and Iyer will be the one to rescue Delhi if they lost wickets at the top.

Quinton De Kock(MI):

Ishan Kishan finished as the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians last year while Quinton De Kock fell short of his teammate by 13 runs. De Kock is a world-class batsman and can be very destructive in this form of the game. The left-hander has performed consistently for various franchises in the IPL over the years.

De Kock and Rohit have been a good opening combination and with a strong middle order to come, De Kock has the licence to unleash his batting prowess.

KL Rahul(PKBS):

KL Rahul topped the run chart in the IPL 2020 and has been scoring consistently in the last three years. He has taken up responsibility at the top of the order and has been the anchor around for the others to play around. He can be destructive at times, and the fans are all also hoping to see the attacking side of Rahul despite being the captain.

With Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle around him, he will be facing some tough competition for the highest run-scorer for the team.

Sanju Samson(RR):

Sanju Samson lost his place in the Indian limited over side recently and he will have to make sure that he is back among the runs to fight for a place in the squad for the T20 World Cup later this year. He is a player who can keep leave you in awe at times and also disappointing after so many good starts.

With the captaincy now shifted to him, he will have to fix his position in the batting order and he could become the highest run-scorer for RR this season given that he plays every match.
