IPL 2021: Revealed - Why Prithvi Shaw Isn't Included In DC Playing XI vs KKR

Star Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Prithvi Shaw was not the part of team’s playing XI in the 41st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, September 28.

Eoin Morgan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were entering the match with a loss in the previous game against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK). On the other hand, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) won their previous game against Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Notably, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and they opted to field first. Meanwhile, both the captains were happy with this decision as Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant told that they were looking to bat first.
Prithvi Shaw Is Injured And Steve Smith Comes In – Rishabh Pant

Youngster Prithvi Shaw had an amazing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 as he managed to score 329 runs for the team at an average of 32.90 and strike rate of 160.48.

Informing about the changes in the team after the toss, the Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant told that they have made one change in the team in the name of Prithvi Shaw as he has suffered an injury. Meanwhile, Australian batsman Steve Smith was added in as a replacement for the opener.
“We were looking to bat first anyway. We don’t really know what the conditions are like. 150-160 should be good since the wicket looks slow. We are looking to take one match at a time, and hope we can win this game and qualify for the playoffs for sure”

Notably, team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also made a couple of changes in the team, As Sandeep Warrier was included in the team in place of Prasidh Krishna and Tim Southee was added in as Andre Russell’s replacement.
