IPL 2021: Sunil Narine A True Legend Of T20 Cricket And We're Delighted To Have Him – Eoin Morgan After Winning Eliminator Vs RCB

Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 4 wickets in the Eliminator of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday, October 11.

Now, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 2 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Winning the toss and batting first Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored 49 runs in just 5 overs. However, the next 15 overs were horrible as they managed to score only 89 runs and lost 7 wickets. In the end, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) posted only 138 runs on the board.

Chasing the target Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were off to a flying start and both Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill looked good out in middle. After openers got out Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine carried forward the innings.

Meanwhile, After losing back-to-back wickets Captain Eoin Morgan and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan marched KKR towards victory.

Sunil Narine Makes It Look Very Very Easy – Eoin Morgan

During the post-match presentation, Morgan lavished praise on Sunil Narine for his amazing all-round performance. He stated:

 “He makes it look very very easy (Narine). On an improved wicket in Sharjah he bowled outstandingly.”

Morgan added that team did a great job by picking wickets at regular intervals after the powerplay overs. He said:

” Throughout the innings we continued to take wickets post the first six overs. Then in the chase, being in control the whole time doesn’t allow you to breathe as a defending side.”

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper stated that he is privileged to have such a quality spin bowling unit. Eoin Morgan asserted:

“Don’t have to do a lot of moving (so many spinners). Huge privilege. When it comes off like that it looks quite strong and deep. The way the wicket played we thought we have to bat quite deep. Onwards and upwards for us. For us it’s a matter of coming back, adjusting and seeing what the wicket does. Looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile, Morgan signed off by saying that KKR have surprised everyone with their consistent performance and he labelled Sunil Narine as a “True legend of T20 cricket”. Eoin Morgan asserted:

“The cricket that we have played and the consistency we have shown has surprised everybody. He’s a true legend of T20 cricket and we’re delighted to have him (Narine).”
