Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s Director of Cricket Operations and now the Head Coach also, Mike Hesson, had a few words of encouragement to Washington Sundar as the all-rounder has now been ruled out of the second half of the IPL 2021, which starts on September 19 in the UAE.

Sundar won’t participate in the UAE leg of the tournament because of a finger injury. Bengal pacer Akash Deep, who is also a net bowler with RCB, has been named as his replacement. he had suffered this injury during a practice match ahead of the India-England series in England.

He was batting for the County XI side against the ‘Indians’ when a short delivery from Mohemmed Siraj hit him on the finger; he also didn’t bowl a single over in the game.

The 21-year-old took to Instagram posting a message to his fans, on which Mike Hesson commented with a heartfelt message to the youngster.

“The team will certainly miss you Washi. I look forward to watching you show us your skills once fully fit again. Take care of that”

Mike Hesson to take over Simon Katich as RCB head coach

There is a change in personnel for Virat Kohli’s side as Mike Hesson will take the extra responsibility of the head coach in the remainder of the season because Simon Katich has stepped down for personal reasons.

Both Mike Hesson and Katich were signed by RCB ahead of IPL 2020, but it seems that the latter’s relationship with the franchise is over now.
