IPL 2021: Twitter Hails Deepak Chahar As He Produces A Marvelous Spell Of Bowling Against Punjab Kings

Chennai Super Kings new-ball bowler Deepak Chahar delivered an absolutely magnificent spell of bowling in the ongoing IPL 2021 fixture against the Punjab Kings. Deepak Chahar ripped through Punjab Kings’ batting line-up by grabbing figures of 4-1-13-4 to leave the opposition reeling at 26-5 at one stage. Chahar currently has four out of the six wickets to fall and recorded his best bowling figures in the tournament history.

Deepak Chahar began the carnage by dismissing Mayank Agarwal for a two-ball duck via a peach of a delivery. The 28-year old kept mixing it up in terms of pace and length to get the rest of his wickets as Super Kings’ fielders kept the opposition under the leash. The second wicket of KL Rahul occurred through Ravindra Jadeja’s electric fielding at short cover as he fired a direct hit.

Chahar secured his second scalp by delivering a knuckle-ball that was slower through the air. The left-handed batsman could merely spoon it to Jadeja, who swooped in from short cover and dived forward to take the catch. The right-arm seamer proceeded to dismiss Nicholas Pooran, who recorded his second consecutive duck after holing out a short-pitched ball to Shardul Thakur at long leg.

Deepak Hooda was Punjab Kings’ fifth casualty as he chipped a standard swinging delivery to Faf Du Plessis to mid-off. Hooda was arguably one of the most significant wickets for the Chennai Super Kings as he shamed a 28-ball 64 in Punjab’s first match against the Rajasthan Royals and threatened to play another blinder. Only two of Deepak Chahar’s victims were able to reach double figures – Chris Gayle and Deepak Hooda managed ten runs each in a forgettable batting performance.
