Both the teams had contrary outings in the first phase of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) were sitting at the top of the points table with 6 victories in 8 games. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson’s Sunrisers Hyderabad was placed at bottom of the table as they lost 6 out of 7 games.
Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the toss and they opted to bat first. Notably, both the captains were satisfied with this outcome as Rishabh Pant told that Delhi Capitals (DC) wanted to bowl first.
Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lost the wicket of David Warner in the very first over and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Abdul Samad top-scored for Hyderabad with 28 runs under his belt and somehow SRH were able to post a decent total of 134 on the board. Overall the decision to bat first turned out to be a horrible one for Hyderabad.
Delhi Capitals openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw started the chase in fashion. However, Prithvi Shaw was dismissed at the score of 11 off 8 balls in the 3rd over. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan stood strong in the crease and but was dismissed by Rashid Khan at the score of 42 in the 11th over the game.
Later former Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer was joined by current Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant on the crease and they looked amazing in the middle and added 50 runs together in no time and eventually Delhi Capitals won the match.
