Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant and KKR wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik were involved in a hilarious moment during the first innings of the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Notably, Varun Chakravarthy came to bowl his final over in the 17th over of the match. Meanwhile, when he bowled the first delivery of that over, Rishabh Pant tried to smash it but he mistimed the shot and the ball was bouncing wickedly close to the stumps, So Rishabh Pant tried to smack it away with his bat and during that process, he almost took out the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik.

Notably, the former KKR skipper just dodged and managed to miss Pant’s dangerous bat swing. However, after that, both the players shared a smile.

Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC) Struggles At Sharjah

Delhi Capitals (DC) made one forced change in the team. As the opener, Prithvi Shaw suffered an injury and Australian Steve Smith was added to the playing XI.

The new opening pair of Steve Smith and Shikhar Dhawan managed to add 35 runs for the first wicket before Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket against Lockie Ferguson.

Notably, Shikhar Dhawan managed to score 24 runs off 20 balls. Meanwhile, Former Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer was also dismissed very soon by Sunil Narine. Iyer was able to contribute only 1 run from 5 balls.

In the 13th over Lockie Ferguson came and he sent another DC opener back to the dugout. As he castled Steve Smith 39(34) in that over with fierce delivery. The bad phase was not yet over for Delhi Capitals as Venkatesh Iyer dismissed Shimron Hetmyer in the 14th over.

Also after that Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel were dismissed in 15th and 16th over.
