The IPL 2021 kicked off on April 8, 2021, with a bang and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pulled off a thriller that went into the wire against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Maxwell’s innings was the talking point as he regained his form in the IPL — and hit a huge 100 meter six during his innings which hit the top of the stadium roof.
The IPL has already been enlightening with the season opener turning out to be a nail-biter and there haven’t been any red signal to the entertainment factor. Over the years, the IPL stars have gone on to hit sixes out of the stadium and it is time to look at the 5 longest sixes in the history of the tournament.

5 Longest Sixes In The History Of The Tournament:
Albie Morkel(125m):

The South African all-rounder Albie Morkel is at the top of the list for the longest sixes hit in the history of IPL. Playing for the Chennai Super Kings, Morkel hit a humungous 125 meter six in the bowling of left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha in the cow corner area.
It was low scoring in the inaugural edition of 2008 and Morkel’s innings of 29 runs in 19 balls took CSK to a respectable total of 144 for the loss of seven wickets. However, the Deccan Charger chased it down in the end with seven wickets in hand and two overs left.
Praveen Kumar(124m):

This must be one of the most surprising names in the list of longest sixes and the Indian medium-pacer Praveen Kumar showed glimpses of his batting talent. It was in the 2013 IPL when Praveen Kumar almost pulled off a victory for the Kings XI Punjab against the Mumbai Indians with a late cameo.
Praveen Kumar hit one of the best bowlers in the history of the IPL, Lasith Malinga over the long-off area and it went far to hold the second place in the list of longest sixes in IPL history. Kings XI Punjab eventually lost the game by a close margin of just 4 runs.
Adam Gilchrist(122m):
It is still the third-longest six in the history of IPL and Punjab won the game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore easily by a margin of 111 runs. Gilchrist was the star of the show scoring 106 runs in 55 balls with nine sixes and eight fours in the innings.
Robin Uthappa(120m):
His timing is impeccable and he hit a 120 meter six in the bowling of Dwayne Bravo which is the fourth-longest six in the history of IPL. Uthappa has shown in the past that he can hit long balls and this was a testimony of the talent he possesses.
Ross Taylor(119m):
He scored 53 of just 34 deliveries with three fours and three sixes in the innings and shared an important partnership with Wasim Jaffer in the middle in a chase of 179 runs. However, once Taylor was dismissed, RCB crumbled and fell short by a margin of 13 runs.
