Assam and Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder, Riyan Parag, took to his official Twitter account on Wednesday, to share a heartwarming post about his experience of working under former Sri Lankan skipper and the current director of cricket at RR, Kumar Sangakkara.
Parag, in his post, wrote that while he got to spend just a few weeks with the ‘LEGEND’, he enjoyed every bit of it, and in the process, he got to learn a lot of things about him that he didn’t realize before.
“Spent just a few weeks with him, but had sooo much fun and learnt things i didn’t know about me! See ya soon @KumarSanga2 you’re a LEGEND,” wrote Riyan Parag.
Parag’s post came a day after the 14th season of the Indian Premier League was suspended for an indefinite period of time by the Board of Control for Cricket in India following multiple Covid positive cases.
It all started with Kolkata Knight Riders’ Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier testing positive for the Wuhan Virus on Sunday. Things escalated in the next two days with members of CSK support staff and two Indian cricketers- Amit Mishra (Delhi Capitals) and Wriddhiman Saha (SunRisers Hyderabad)- testing positive.
As far as Riyan Parag’s performance in IPL 2021 is concerned, it mirrored his teams’ performance and was ridden with inconsistency.
In 7 games, the all-rounder managed 78 runs besides claiming a solitary wicket.
