IPL 2021: Shane Watson Feels CSK Has The Edge Going Into The IPL Final Against KKR

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson believes that playing in Dubai, where the pitch is much better for batting, makes Chennai Super Kings (CSK) the favourites against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The two teams will go against each other on Friday night in Dubai for the IPL 2021 trophy.
Watson pointed out the track in Sharjah, where KKR has been playing most of their games, was extremely conducive to spinners. Making use of this, KKR managed to get past RCB and DC in the Eliminator and Qualifier 2, respectively. However, with the change in venue, the strong batting lineup of Chennai could prove to be the difference-maker.
“I’ve got CSK. Not because I am CSK through and through, but after last night’s game (Qualifier 2 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals). I have got no doubt that CSK would have been more comfortable and would have preferred to play KKR in the final in Dubai.”

“If they are playing in Sharjah, no way. Going into Dubai, with a really good wicket, the ball doesn’t turn as much; definitely, CSK would have preferred to play KKR. This is because KKR have been playing a lot of their games in Sharjah recently, and there is a quick turnaround going into Dubai,” Watson said on The Grade Cricketer’s podcast.
“CSK will be high on confidence” – Shane Watson
The former Chennai opener also pointed out that the victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 1 greatly boosts CSK. MS Dhoni scored 18 off 6 balls to finish the game in vintage fashion. According to Shane Watson, this should give them the confidence of going into a game as big as the final.

“CSK have got the upper hand because they have been playing on that wicket recently and have performed pretty well there. CSK will be high on confidence. Watson added that the moment for where CSK would really go as galvanize together would be MS Dhoni scoring runs,” Watson added.
The second leg of the IPL 2021 in the UAE will conclude with CSK facing off against KKR in the final in Dubai.
