SunRisers Hyderabad all-rounder Abdul Samad was the one who did not drop a catch when it came his way, unlike his teammates. SunRisers Hyderabad finally got a wicket after 15 overs as Sanju Samson holed out to long-off for 48 off 33 deliveries. Abdul Samad, who was stationed there, took the catch at the edge of the boundary.

Sanju Samson’s dismissal occurred in the 17th over bowled by Vijay Shankar when Sanju Samson wanted to clear the long-on boundary. However, the right-handed batsman got the toe-end of his bat. Samad had almost touched a boundary, but he caught the ball by timing his jump perfectly and maintained the balance simultaneously. Samson departed for 48 and added 150 off 88 deliveries with Jos Buttler.

Buttler, who opened the innings, managed to reach a hundred and lift his side to a formidable total. Earlier, SunRisers Hyderabad new captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to field first. The Orange Army shockingly left out David Warner from their ranks and swapped him with Mohammad Nabi. They also dropped Jagadeesha Suchith and Siddharth Kaul for Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Abdul Samad. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals made one change by axing Shivam Dube for Anuj Rawat.
