Kolkata Knight Riders have made a horror start to their steep run-chase against the Chennai Super Kings. Deepak Chahar, the new-ball bowler, has struck twice to remove the opposition openers, Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill, in his two overs. Nitish Rana’s brief stay ended as captain MS Dhoni took an incredible catch, running from behind the stumps to square leg.

After Shubman Gill perished for a golden duck in the first over, Deepak Chahar’s second over yielded Nitish Rana’s wicket. The left-handed batsman aimed to put it away to the leg-side fence, and instead, he sliced it up in the air. MS Dhoni incredibly sprinted from behind the stumps to square leg to take the catch comfortably to send back Rana for 9 off 12 deliveries.

Faf Du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad struck half-centuries, with the former staying unbeaten at 95. On the other hand, MS Dhoni and Moeen Ali hammered invaluable cameos to post an imposing score.
