A stunning diving catch by Kolkata Knight Riders captain, Eoin Morgan, has helped his 2014 winners get rid of the dangerous-looking MS Dhoni in the ongoing encounter against Chennai Super Kings.

It all happened on the final ball of the penultimate over when Andre Russell fired in a wide full-toss outside the off-stump. MS Dhoni reached out for it and crunched it off the middle of the bat.

But Eoin Morgan, in what was a stunning effort, dived on his left and took an outstanding catch to end MS Dhoni’s cameo of 8-ball 17.

With Chennai Super Kings rollicking along at 2/165 post the dismissal of Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni came out to bat with an aggressive mindset.

Dhoni’s first boundary came against a bowler, whom he has struggled the most over the years in Sunil Narine.

It was a streaky four- his first against Narine- towards the third-man region on a free hit, alright, but there was nothing streaky about the six that he hit off Prasidh Krishna.

Dhoni rolled back the years with a disdainful hoike towards deep mid-wicket off Prasidh Krishna for a six before Eoin Morgan’s stunner ended the flashback.

That said, CSK have ended on an absolute high as Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja smashed three sixes in the final over bowled by Pat Cummins to help the three-time champions to rack up 3/220 in 20 overs.
