Eoin Morgan, the Kolkata Knight Riders captain, is having a tough time in the IPL 2021. Despite a formidable team, and an explosive batting line-up, KKR has lost 3 of their 4 matches so far- the latest one coming against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.
KKR’s fortunes didn’t change after moving out from the slow pitch in Chennai to the flat batting-friendly track at the Wankhede as they suffered an 18-run loss – the margin could have been much worse if not for the mauling which Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, and Pat Cummins served the CSK bowlers after being 31/5 in a chase of 221.
On the other hand, CSK, after losing their first game has now won three on a trot and is on top of the points table.

Ravindra Jadeja, who has once again been a crucial part of CSK’s success, had fun after victory on Wednesday. His teammate and batting mainstay, Suresh Raina posted a story on Instagram, where the all-rounder is seen imitating Eoin Morgan’s batting stance in the dressing room.
Jadeja taps the bat hard, as the KKR skipper does; he almost perfectly imitates Eoin Morgan’s low crouch down, as the England captain always does before facing the delivery.

It’s only a matter of time before something comes together: Eoin Morgan
Not only KKR has played disappointingly, but their skipper has also been woefully out of form with the bat. Eoin Morgan has scored 45 runs in 4 matches – with three single-digit scores – while batting in the crucial middle-order position.
However, the left-hander is confident that he will come good with the bat soon and understands that his runs will strengthen the bridge between the top order and lower order finishers.

“Everything’s about process. I am going about things in an extremely positive way. I’ve been here a long time now. I was here on international duty a month pre-IPL. And I’ve practising well and it’s only a matter of time before something comes together,” the KKR skipper said on Wednesday.
“The only thing matters in T20 cricket that you have 120 balls to make an influence on the game. Today, reflects that. We have a very deep batting line-up, it’s our strength, lots of experience in that middle and lower-middle order and today we saw that,” he added.
With 3 losses in 4 games, the Knight Riders are sixth on the points table. They take on the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
