Watch: Shikhar Dhawan Gets A Minor Heart Attack On The Field As Dawid Malan Survives An LBW

Punjab Kings batsman Dawid Malan had come at a crucial time to bat on his IPL debut against the Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad. Dawid Malan, who struggled to play his shots before opening up a bit, was fortunate to survive an LBW shout after opposition captain Rishabh Pant took the DRS. Capitals’ opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was nervous as Malan got away with the appeal.
The incident occurred in the first ball of the tenth over, bowled by Axar Patel. The length ball struck the southpaw right in front and almost looked stone dead. Nevertheless, when Rishabh Pant took the review, it was hitting the wickets; however, it was the umpire’s call on it. Malan, whose partnership with captain Mayank Agarwal was growing steadily, was lucky to survive it.
Earlier, the Delhi Capitals captain won the toss and elected to field first, deciding to go ahead with an unchanged side. On the other hand, Punjab Kings stand-in skipper Mayank Agarwal opted for two changes, with KL Rahul being forced out due to appendicitis and Agarwal coming in. The management also left out Nicholas Pooran, who recorded his fourth duck of IPL 2021, to hand Dawid Malan a debut.
