Punjab Kings has had a dismal performance over the couple of years where they haven’t been able to peak at the right time. In order to turn the tables, Punjab Kings removed Anil Kumble from the Head Coach Position following a string of low performances.
Punjab Kings is a franchise that every season shows potential but doesn’t make an impact in the tournament. The team’s best season was way back in 2014 when they reached the finals. This time, as we all know that the format of IPL would be back to home and away games which would help them a lot.
Brad Haddin Joins Punjab Kings
Punjab Kings have roped in Brad Haddin as the assistant head Coach of the team. The former Australian Wicket-keeper was a part of SunRisers Hyderabad along with Trevor Bayliss. This move can do wonders for the franchise as the duo knows how to form a team.
Change in Captaincy
Ever since KL Rahul left Punjab Kings, Mayank Agarwal the skipper has found it difficult to score significant runs for the team. The batter hasn’t been able to guide the team and at the same time, there was no fixed batting position. There are chances that Punjab Kings may look for an overseas captain.
It would be quite fascinating to see how the team performs under the duo of Haddin and Bayliss as both of them know how to win championships. It is reported that the auction would take place in December and as we all know, that half of the IPL season is won in Auction. Punjab Kings would be hoping that the change in the support staff will bring joy to the fans.
