Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh lauded Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni for his brilliant cameo in the game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that the keeper batter should fix his knee injury and come back next year as well.

Be it captaincy or batting, MS Dhoni has been brilliant in the IPL 2023. The keeper batter has led his side staggeringly well and thanks to that, CSK are on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs. Although he hasn’t batted many balls in the league, but in whatever limited opportunities he has given himself, he had been impressive.

Harbhajan Singh feels that talks related to MS Dhoni’s last season should be put to rest and he should be back for the next season, considering the impact player rule as well. He also lauded him for his knock against DC.

Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said: “Whatever the talk is going on over this being MS Dhoni’s last season, I think that should be put to rest. Just fix that knee and come back next year as well. Now, there is the impact player rule as well. The way he leads the side and handles the bowlers, there will not be another captain like him

“No one scored heavily on that pitch, but MS Dhoni’s 20 runs, in the end, proved to be the difference. He has not scored many runs this season, but it has come at a strike rate of over 200. This was a glimpse of the old MS Dhoni, he is an exceptional player.”

CSK vs KKR: “One more win should be enough,” Harbhajan Singh on CSK’s playoffs chances

Chennai Super Kings are currently second on the points table with 15 points. They have won 7 games so far and it’s fair to say that one or two more wins would ensure them a place.

Harbhajan Singh also feels the same but he highlighted that CSK can go at the top of the table as well because MS Dhoni can do anything.

He explained: “I don’t think CSK have confirmed their qualification for the playoffs, one more win should be enough. They can either finish second or third or maybe even at the top of the table because MS Dhoni can do anything.”

Chennai Super Kings will be next seen in action when they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next game on Sunday, May 14.
