Former Indian cricketer Murali Vijay lashed out at the people asking Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni for his retirement. He said that the keeper-batter has served the country for about 15 years and people should give him space.
MS Dhoni is currently plying his trade for CSK in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The keeper batter is leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and has done a decent job so far with the bat as well as the leader of the team.

MS Dhoni has been vocal about playing his last game in front of the Chepauk crowd. Since the last few seasons, the league was played at a few selected venues due to covid 19. But this year’s tournament has returned to his old home and away format and therefore it can be assumed that this might be Dhoni’s last season.

Murali Vijay said that people should stop putting pressure on MS Dhoni and should give him space as retirement is an individual’s choice. While speaking to SportsKeeda, he said:
“It’s an individual choice. It’s high time people understand what a cricketer is going through. He’s served our country for about 15 years. So we should be giving him space to take that call, rather than putting pressure by asking when he’s going to retire. It’s very harsh for y’all to ask this question. Everybody is asking about MS’ retirement.”
CSK vs SRH: “I want to tell people to maintain that little bit of privacy,” says Murali Vijay on MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni has been struggling with his knee this year, which has raised even more speculations about his retirement. His old teammate Kedar Jadhav too said that this will be his last season.
Murali Vijay slammed people continuously asking about Dhoni’s retirement, saying that some sort of privacy is to be given to the players as it’s their personal choice. He added:
“It is so sad for me to sit and answer it. I have retired recently, so I know how it feels. We have given our heart and soul to this game and it’s a personal choice, and I want to tell people to maintain that little bit of privacy.”
MS Dhoni will be next seen in action when Chennai Super Kings will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Friday (21st April).
