GT vs DC: "David Warner Was Dismissed Earlier, Which Is Why Delhi Came So Close" - Harbhajan Slams DC Skipper; Says "Had He Played 50 Balls, Team Would've Lost By 50 Runs"

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh slammed Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper David Warner after the 40th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He said that he got out early that’s why they came close otherwise they would’ve lost by 50 runs.
Delhi Capitals suffered a disappointing 9-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad to mark their sixth loss of the IPL 2023 season. A disappointing bowling performance during the fag end of the innings saw them conceding 197 runs.

Axar Patel then struck some lusty blows in the end and played an inning of 29 runs in 14 balls. But he didn’t get the desired support as DC fell 9 runs short of the target.

Harbhajan Singh feels that David Warner hasn’t done justice to his stature this season and said that his 300 runs are of no use for the DC. Speaking in a video posted on his youtube channel, he said:
“Warner was dismissed earlier today (vs SRH), which is why Delhi came so close. If he had played 50 balls, that would’ve been 50 balls wasted, and DC would’ve lost by 50 runs
“Even now, when he comes to presentations, he says about other players’ mistakes. But what have you done? You didn’t show any intent; you scored 300+ runs but look at your strike rate. Warner hasn’t done justice to his stature this year. His 300 runs are of no use to DC.”
Notably, Warner is the leading run-getter for his side in the IPL 2023. He has scored 306 runs in 8 innings to go with four half-centuries. But what has been concerning is his strike rate of 118.6.

Harbhajan Singh further went on to highlight David Warner’s captaincy and said that he hasn’t led the side well and he doesn’t think that team can make a comeback. He added:
“I don’t think they can make a comeback, and the entire reason for that is captain. He didn’t lead the side well, and then his form was an issue. It has been very disappointing. Warner needs to look in the mirror, if he wants to find a reason for DC being at the bottom.”
Delhi Capitals (DC) will be next seen in action when they will take on Tuesday (2nd May) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
