Prior to the IPL 2023 auction, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) released 8 players from their IPL 2022 roster. The four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) sold senior all-rounder and longtime player Dwayne Bravo prior to the IPL 2023 auction.

Since joining Chennai Super Kings in 2011, the West Indian has won the Purple Cap twice (2013 and 2015). The Yellow Army paid INR 4.40 Crore for the Caribbean all-rounder during the 2022 IPL Auction.

The 39-year-old was unable to justify the price tag after scoring only 23 runs in 10 games at a miserable average of 11.50. He had a bowling economy of 8.71 and 16 wickets in 10 games. During his time, he was considered one of T20 Cricket’s best death bowlers. His ability to cut runs in death overs may make him a sought-after asset in the upcoming auction.
