IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Young Indian Players That Gujarat Titans (GT) Might Bid For. Against all expectations, Gujarat Titans went on to win IPL 2022. No one gave them a chance after the auction ended. However, the management was brilliant with its utilization of resources and tactics.
The team had a few issues after the bright start but finished the tournament well. Nevertheless, the opposition teams would now be warier of GT. The Hardik Pandya-led squad will have to make a few changes and that will start with releasing some cricketers like batter Vijay Shankar, pacer Varun Aaron, Afghanistan spinner youngster Noor Ahmad and West Indies all-rounder Dominic Drakes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)
Ahead of IPL 2022, England opener Jason Roy withdrew himself, citing bubble fatigue and the need to spend time with his family. The Gujarat Titans signed up Afghanistan opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz as his replacement.
But, the Gujarat Giants will be looking up for a young Indian opener in IPL 2023 as Indian keeper Wriddhiman Saha who opened along with Matthew Wade in IPL 2022 is about 38 years of age.
21-year-old opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 2.40 Cr ahead of the IPL 2020 and has scored 547 runs averaging 23.78 in 23 IPL matches at a strike rate of 134.73 with 3 fifties-all for RR may be an Indian youngster in Gujarat’s IPL 2023 squad.
Yashasvi Jaiswal recently became the joint fastest Indian to reach 1000 runs in first-class cricket during the Duleep Trophy final in Coimbatore. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit a double ton, continued batting on Day 4 and crossed 250 runs. With this, he also completed 1000 runs in First Class cricket, in 13 innings.
Abdul Samad (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
A big-hitting right-handed batsman from Jammu Kashmir, Abdul Samad was shortlisted in the Sunrisers Hyderabad trials ahead of the 2020 IPL Auction. He was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 20 lakh which made him only the fourth cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir after Parvez Rasool, Manzoor Dar & Rasikh Salam to earn an IPL contract.
Known to score at a brisk pace, bold with the bat with a liking for the big hits, Abdul Samad was identified as one of the young talents to watch out for and was retained by Sunrisers ahead of the 2022 IPL Auction. He has scored 226 runs averaging 14.13 in 25 IPL games for Sunrisers Hyderabad at a strike rate of 142.14. He has also picked 2 scalps. He may replace out-of-form Vijay Shankar in Gujarat Titans IPL 2023 squad if Sunrisers Hyderabad decides to not retain the 21-year-old.
Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals)
Riyan Parag found a place in the Rajasthan Royals setup again for INR 3.8 Crores in IPL 2022. The Assam cricketer has played some crucial innings that have helped his franchise in the last few years. He also adds up to the all-rounder option as he can rotate his arm with some leg spin which is crucial to the balance of the side.
Despite the criticism for a controversial catch celebration, Riyan Parag amassed 183 runs from 17 matches at a strike rate of 138.64, with the best score of 56 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. He may be picked up by Gujarat Giants in IPL 2023 if RR decides to not retain him.
