IPL 2023 Auction: 5 Tamil Nadu Players CSK Can Target. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head into the IPL 2023 auction with a remaining purse of 20.45 crores looking to fill up seven available slots. The franchise retained 18 players including Ravindra Jadeja after much deliberation. The Tamil Dadu keeper-batsman should be one of CSK’s premier targets in the upcoming auction. He is fresh off a terrific Vijay Hazare Trophy for his stateside scoring 830 runs in 8 innings averaging 138.33. The right-hander will give CSK the option of playing an Indian keeper batsman in the XI. The cricketer was released by CSK just before his exploits in the domestic tournament. Seeing his potential and capability, they should buy him back.

Hari Nishaanth
Hari Nishaanth is another Tamil Nadu cricketer Tamil Nadu can look to rope in. He is a top-order batter and also bowls right-arm off-spin. Like Jagadeeshan, Nishant has been in and around the domestic circuit for a number of years but has not played in the IPL. He has just played one FC game, 8 List A, and 30 T20s for Tamil Nadu.
Baba Indrajith
Baba played three matches in IPL 2022 for KKR. The franchise has released him ahead of the next auction. The right-hander is a keeper-batsman and can bat at the top for Chennai. Though Ruturaj Gaikwad is a more established opener for the franchise, Indrajith gives them a good backup option.
Murugan Ashwin
Ashwin was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The young leggie has played for a number of franchises in the IPL. He played nine games for Mumbai Indians picking up nine wickets at an average of 25.33. On the turning track at Chepauk, he can be a handful with MS Dhoni behind the stumps for support.
