After the T20 World Cup, the focus has switched to the upcoming Indian Premier League mini-auction, which is scheduled to take place on December 23rd in Kochi. All of the franchises have revealed which players they have retained and released for the next IPL season ahead of the mini-auction.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained most of their main players. West Indies batter Sherfan Rutherford was the only big name the franchise released, and they traded Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff to the Mumbai Indians.
The core team consisting of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, Vanindu Hasaranga, Shahbaz Ahmed, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj, and Josh Hazlewood has been retained.

I Expect Rcb To Really Do Well – Sanjay Manjrekar
In a conversation on Star Sports, former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and their captain Faf du Plessis will do well in the IPL 2023. The former India batsman believes that RCB have a good bowling attack.
It’s a good team and they gave impressive performances last season despite the failure of Faf du Plessis, and that’s not going to happen a second year in a row. So I expect them to really do well,” said Sanjay Manjrekar.

“There is a reason that they let go of a quality bowler like Behrendorff, because they have got quality in their seam. They have got Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood. Their bowling is pretty good,” he added.
After qualifying for the playoffs three times in a row, RCB also have Akash Deep, David Willey, and Siddharth Kaul as seam bowlers, and they will hope Josh Hazlewood is available throughout the tournament, given Australia’s packed schedule next year. The team still has INR 8.75 crore in their purse and two overseas slots to fill.
