Heinrich Klaasen was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL auction 2023. The franchise bought the Proteas player for Rs. 5.25 crores during the auction. Heinrich Klaasen had kept a base price of Rs. 1 crore for himself in IPL 2023 auction.

Heinrich Klaasen last played in IPL 2019 when he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He also played in IPL 2018 where he was part of Rajasthan Royals. Klaasen has only played in these two seasons of IPL so far.
