IPL Auction 2023: Mukesh Kumar Bought By Delhi Capitals (DC) For INR 5.50 Crore

Mukesh Kumar, the promising fast bowler has been bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for INR 5.50 Crore during the IPL Auction 2023. The 29-year-old pacer was included in the ODI Series against South Africa but couldn’t get a game. The pacer made his first-class debut way back in 2015 as this is his maiden IPL contract.

Mukesh Kumar so far has played 23 T20s and picked 25 wickets with an economy rate of 7.20. He has been a part of the India A side for quite some time. It would be interesting to see whether the right-arm medium pacer gets a chance straight away as there’s cut-throat competition for the spots.

Delhi Capitals (DC) who finished in 5th position would be hoping that they don’t go overboard this time. Head Coach Ricky Ponting has a strenuous task on his hands; as we all know that there are home & away venues which would test the teams as pitches would be quite competitive.

Mukesh Kumar could be used in the middle-overs phase as he not only has the knack to deceive the batters with his variations but he is quite disciplined in his line & length. The skipper Rishabh Pant will have to be smart while using him as his medium pace can turn out to be risky for the team.
