KKR vs CSK: Red-Hot Shivam Dube Equals MS Dhoni After Smashing Whirlwind Fifty Against KKR

Continuing his red-hot form in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, Shivam Dube, on Sunday (April 23), smashed a whirlwind fifty against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The Southpaw scored his second consecutive fifty in the ongoing season as he blew KKR away. The platform was set for him to play freely when he walked out to bat in the 13th over of the innings. Chennai Super Kings were on 109 for 2 at that stage after their openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave them another fine start.

The situation demanded Shivam Dube to go all out against the Knight Riders and he did not disappoint. He got into his groove by hitting the third and fourth ball he faced for sixes. There was no looking back after that. After hitting Umesh Yadav for a four in the 14th over, he took David Wiese to the cleaners in the 15th.

The left-handed batsman hit the Namibia skipper for a six and a four. In the following over, he hit another six off Suyash Sharma. He finally reached his fifty in the 18th over when he hit Kulwant Khejroliya for another maximum. The out-of-favor India allrounder reached the landmark in just 20 balls. His innings came to an end on the very next ball. Dube hit 2 fours and 5 sixes during his brilliant knock.

Shivam Dube equals Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni:

Thanks to the whirlwind half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders, Shivam Dube has equaled the likes of MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu. He now holds the record for the joint third-fastest fifty for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
