Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson won the toss & opted to bowl against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). RR bowlers were getting ample assistance from the surface. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was fearless even when the dangerous batter Jason Roy was dismissed cheaply by Trent Boult in the powerplay overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz unleashed an attack against Sandeep Sharma in the 4th over and struck 2 sixes.

Trent Boult showed good control over his line & length. Skipper Sanju Samson used different tactics and in the 4th over he was seen standing up the stumps but that didn’t stop Gurbaz from clearing the fence. Sandeep Sharma was a tad expensive as he conceded 19 runs in his first 2 overs.

The pitch seems a bit dry and it won’t be wrong to say that chasing won’t be easy for the visitors. KKR have added yet another spinner in the form of Anukul Roy and we should not forget that the side already has the services of Narine & Chakaravarthy.

At the end of 4 overs, KKR’s score was 29-1. Trent Boult was bowling the 5th over, on the very first ball, Rahmanullah Gurbaz tried to clear the mid-off-fielder but Sandeep Sharma took a screamer as the ball was traveling and there was a fraction of a second for Sandeep to react.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz was looking ominous as he was dismissed on 18 runs in 12 balls and struck 1 four and 2 sixes. KKR’s score at 4.1 overs was 29-2. It won’t be wrong to say that including Boult has done wonders for RR as both Jason Roy & Rahmanullah Gurbaz could have inflicted a lot of damage.

Crucial Phase for KKR

Skipper Nitish Rana once again will have to make sure that he stays till the end and plays a stellar knock for the team. It would be pretty tough for KKR’s batters against the spin duo of Ashwin & Chahal in these testing conditions.

Sanju Samson would be aware of the fact that the pacer KM Asif would be targeted as he will have to manage his 4 overs quite smartly as KKR have got a lot of fire-power present in the form of Russell & Rinku who can destroy any bowler on the given day.
