KKR vs RR: Yashasvi Jaiswal Smashes Fastest Fifty In The IPL History; Achieves The Feat In Just 13 Balls

Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Yashasvi Jaiswal created history in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Southpaw became the batter to smash the fastest half-century in the league. The opening batter achieved the feat in the ongoing IPL 2023 game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. 

Chasing the target of 150 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been in the red hot form in the IPL 2023, came out all guns blazing and set the Eden Gardens ablaze. He went from the word go as he smashed six on the first ball of the innings and tonked Nitish Rana for 26 runs in the first over.

Yashasvi Jaiswal after scoring a half-century kept going after the bowlers and was batting at 63 runs in 24 balls at the time of writing this piece. He also has smashed 10 fours and 3 sixes in his innings so far and has been batting at the strike rate of over 260.

KKR vs RR: Fastest fifties in the IPL (by balls faced) 

RR batter Yashasvi Jaiswal now holds the record for the fastest fifty in the IPL. He is followed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul, who scored a half-century in just 14 balls while playing for Punjab Kings in 2018. He is followed by former KKR pacer Pat Cummins, who achieved the feat in IPL 2022 against Mumbai Indians.
